Celebrating National Indigenous History Month

June is National Indigenous History Month, a time to recognize, honour, and celebrate the rich history, diverse cultures, and outstanding contributions of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples across Canada.
At Buffalo Trail Public Schools, we are committed to learning with and from Indigenous communities. Throughout the month of June, we encourage staff, students, and families to explore Indigenous stories, traditions, and perspectives. This is an opportunity to deepen our understanding of the past, reflect on the present, and work together toward a more inclusive and respectful future.
We invite everyone to take part in meaningful learning, whether through classroom activities, community events, or personal reflection. Together, we can continue to build strong relationships rooted in respect, truth, and reconciliation.
