The board believes in the following priorities

 

  1. Focus on improving student achievement through an emphasis on literacy and numeracy skills;
  2. Ensuring students at all grade levels are provided with educational experiences that engage them in lifelong learning skills and allow them to work toward a choice of a career and/or post secondary pathway;
  3. Ensuring “at-risk” students are provided with appropriate programs and supports; and,
  4. Providing all students and staff with a safe, collaborative, healthy and innovative learning environment that values individual contributions and supports opportunities for growth.

Letter to Parents Regarding Influenza-Like Illness Reporting

Superintendent of Schools Bob Allen has written a letter to parents outlining the steps BTPS has taken to ensure students, staff and parents are aware of the influenza-like illness (ILI) reporting guidelines (10% or higher absenteeism in schools).

Bus Run Cancellations

Find out what buses are running and which ones are not.  Some buses may have not notified our office at the time this was posted.  The bus contractor/driver will notify parents if they are not running.

BTPS Bus Route Information

 

Buses are running today as per Policy EEB 10.  However, if the buses are not running in the morning, due to temperature they do not run in the afternoon. Therefore, if you drive your child to school please ensure they have a ride home.

 

It is parent responsibility to notify the schools when their children are absent due to bus cancellations.  Please call your child's school so they know to expect them or not on inclement weather days.  You can find the school's phone number on this website.  Thank you for your assistance.

 

Please ensure that students wear/carry with them appropriate winter attire while riding the bus during the winter months.

Marwayne School Receives Health & Wellness Grant

The Board of Trustees is pleased to announce that Marwayne Jubilee School received a $6,700 grant from the Alberta Health and Wellness and the Alberta Healthy School Community Wellness Fund for their Get R.E.A.L. Marwayne! – Reinforcing Energetic Active Lives project.
