In partnership with the community, highly effective Buffalo Trail Public Schools’ staff will provide optimum learning in a safe, caring and supportive learning environment.

Our Priorities 

The board believes in the following priorities

 

  1. Focus on improving student achievement through an emphasis on literacy and numeracy skills;
  2. Ensuring students at all grade levels are provided with educational experiences that engage them in lifelong learning skills and allow them to work toward a choice of a career and/or post secondary pathway;
  3. Ensuring “at-risk” students are provided with appropriate programs and supports; and,
  4. Providing all students and staff with a safe, collaborative, healthy and innovative learning environment that values individual contributions and supports opportunities for growth.

Wainwright High School to receive Lillian Bloom Scholarship

BTPS is pleased to announce that a new scholarship program, sponsored by the estate of Lillian Bloom, will be available starting fall 2010 to eligible final-year Education students that attended Wainwright High School.

Kitscoty daycare to receive modular unit to expand services

August 18, 2010

The Kitscoty Community Cabin 4 Kids (KCCK), a private daycare serving Kitscoty and the surrounding area, was approved to receive a single size (24’ x 40’) modular classroom from the Region 5 East Central Alberta Child and Family Services Authority, Alberta Children and Youth Initiative, and the ministries of Education and Infrastructure.

New Principal-at-Large (Curriculum) for BTPS

June 30, 2010

Mabyn Grinde, teacher and curriculum specialist with Chinook’s Edge School Division will take over the Principal-at-large for curriculum position, effective the beginning of the 2010-2011 school year.  Ms. Grinde will replace Hugh Forrester, who retired at the end of June.

BTPS' First Student Engagement Project a Success

The Student Voice student engagement project, initiated by the Board of Trustees and implemented by three BTPS students, was a resounding success with the student team receiving about 125 responses from students across the division during its three-week run.

Administrative Change for Mannville School

Mannville School will see a new principal, effective the beginning of the 2010 – 2011 school year.  Don Church, currently Principal with Bosco Homes’ School Authority, will assume his new position after being selected as the successful candidate in an open competition.
