Wainwright Wellness Forever

WAINWRIGHT WELLNESS FOREVER . . . is a community project that is funded by the Alberta Government through its wellness fund.  Our proposal was given approval in 2007-2008 and we are currently in our second year.  Each year we are given $48,000 to spend on community-school wellness.  Our goal is to promote physical activity, proper nutrition and positive social environments for all of our students in Wainwright.  Our committee is a partnership between Blessed Sacrament School, Wainwright High School and Wainwright Elementary School.  We, the committee of Wainwright Wellness Forever, strive to foster growth and development in all of our students.  We encourage all students to take part in our activity days; stress proper nutrition through newsletters and data provided in our physical education classes; promote partnerships with community agencies such as Theatre 75 which as developed a youth theatre program that stresses positive social environments.  Our ultimate goal is to plant the seed of lifelong activity and positive social relationships through proper nutrition and a healthy well being.  We will continue to build relationships with local agencies so that our students can begin and remain active members in our community.
