Mr. Mitchell's Gym

PHYSICAL EDUCATION PROGRAM

Our school is a strong believer in healthy body-healthy mind.  We schedule quality daily physical activity whereby each class gets 30 minutes of physical education instruction. Three of those five classes are in the gymnasium while the other two are in an alternate location either the classroom, an open classroom, outside, or in community facilities such as the swimming pool, skating arena, or bowling alley.  We have a physical education specialist that believes in skill development in a non-threatening healthy environment. Our classes promote maximum touches regarding physical education equipment, total inclusion of all, and strong building of relationships between students and staff.  We will continue to strive for quality instruction with quality equipment.  Through our partnership with East Central Health, the Alberta Government and our local parent association WEPA we have been fortunate to acquire equipment that will meet the needs of all of our students for years to come.

Our school also runs an INTRAMURAL PROGRAM where individual classes come to the gymnasium and play an assortment of games.  Students pick their games and inclusion and relationship building is the cornerstone of our intramural program.

If you have any questions regarding our program please contact our physical education specialist Mr. Dale Mitchell at 780-842-3361.
