The atmosphere is safe, caring, and adult like with a strong work ethic. Who is it for? Students who: are not presently attending school have not experienced success in a traditional school setting are several courses short of their high school diploma need to upgrade their marks to qualify for post-secondary entry want to redo the classroom portion of a diploma exam course have a time table conflict at their present school and need a specific course are raising or expecting a child and need a flexible program are between 15 and 19 (as of September 1st) years of age enjoy working independently and are mature enough to do so
At the Vermilion Outreach School we have a variety of students programs - Off campus programs including cosmetology, carpentry, welding, and mechanics. These programs utilize community resources and caring adults.
Extensive work experience sites for our students Asset building once a week Art program Breakfast program each day - K and E program utilizing excellent curriculum from ADLC via Students on Line.
- Physical Education program (since we have no gym we utilize off campus recreational facilities)
Advanced career counseling Personal counselling and guidance - Differentiated instruction and Cooperative learning. We have had a lot of success in using different delivery strategies to enhance student learning.
