BUFFALO TRAIL PUBLIC SCHOOLS – NEW SUPERINTENDENT
NEWS RELEASE – Thursday, May 14th, 2020
The Board of Trustees of Buffalo Trail Public Schools is pleased to announce the appointment of Rhae-Ann Holoien as its new Superintendent of Schools, effective August 1, 2020. Rhae-Ann comes to Buffalo Trail with several years of experience in public education, first in Saskatchewan and more recently in Alberta. Rhae-Ann began her teaching career in Saskatchewan and moved into school leadership and then divisional leadership positions. She entered the Alberta system with an appointment to Alberta Education as Senior Manager, Curriculum Standards and Policy. More recently, she has been Assistant Superintendent, Learning Services, at Grasslands Public Schools.
During her three years at Grasslands, Rhae-Ann was inspirational for students, teachers and school leadership. She was known at Grasslands and throughout the division and community’ as a hard-working, creative professional learning expert (ECS-Grade 12) and as a relationship builder.
I am excited to be the new superintendent in Buffalo Trail Public Schools and am honoured to have been chosen for this role. I am looking forward to contributing to the vision “To be dynamic leaders in empowering students to be caring, responsible, and contributing global citizens with a passion for learning.” and to meeting staff, students, and our families. I know that I have some big shoes to fill and am eager to continue the work of learning in Buffalo Trail. I also know that we will be planning the new school year to look a little different than it has in the past and I realize the importance of being compassionate, innovative, strategic, and reflective as we move forward.
