Four Year Plan 2019-2023
As many of you are aware, the BTPS Board of Trustees embarked on a new planning process. Rather than the three year rolling plan that we added to year over year, we have gone to a genuine four year plan that begins at the start of the 2019-2020 school year and ends at the end of the 2022-2023 school year. During the last few months, we have engaged a wide variety of stakeholders through both face-to face conversations and on line consultations. The Board appreciated the opportunity to hear so many ideas to help them determine the direction we would go for the next four years. The conversations revolved around providing assurance that BTPS is “Maximizing student learning, in a safe and caring environment, provided by a highly effective team”. The areas of focus included student growth and achievement, teaching and learning, learning supports, governance and local and societal context. Those involved had conversations about the “desired states” and what they would like to see as a result of our work.
At the conclusion of that work, the information gathered was collated and 14 desired states were established that would determine how we assure our public that we are doing the best for our students. Last week, the BTPS Board of Trustees received the finalized BTPS Four Year Plan pamphlet. This pamphlet is very impressive and contains a great deal of information. We are so pleased that we were able to produce it for only 42 cents a copy! We are now at a point that we are ready to communicate that plan with our stakeholders. The 2019-2020 BTPS School Calendar is a part of this important document. All of the information that was previously provided in a single page document is now provided as a part of this pamphlet. Student days, staff days and vacation days are identified as we have always done and a map of BTPS with important contact information is also included. For those who wish to have the single page calendar, it is available on our website or click here. We have also included our Mission, Vision and Values as well as some BTPS Fun Facts! As you will note, BTPS students and staff are showcased in all of the pictures used in this pamphlet, it is truly “Made in BTPS”.
Now that we have completed and printed the plan, it is time to share it. Students, teachers, support staff, parents and the general public will be able to easily access our plan and see how we are working together to make it all happen! Every BTPS family household will receive a copy of the 2019-2023 pamphlet delivered through the school. As well, we will be distributing a copy through our local newspapers as an insert to ensure that those who are not directly connected to the school will have a chance to understand the important work in BTPS. This is posted on our website here. We are also looking for places in our communities where we can make copies available as it is important to get the message about the amazing work we do for our students. If you would like extra copies for registration packages or to share with others, please contact Tzea @ firstname.lastname@example.org and she will get them out to you!
For the next three years, we will be producing a similar follow up document each year that will contain information on how we are doing with respect to our plan, how we are addressing the different desired states and the assurances we are providing. As well, information on the upcoming school year calendar and other important information will be included. This is a very exciting change in our planning and reporting process. I am looking forward to seeing how it evolves! Many thanks go to Assistant Superintendent, Adelee Penner, for her and her team’s hard work on gathering information and putting this document together for the Board.
