Bus Route Contractors

The information below is required as part of the application process for bus contractor selection. Please include all documentation to support the certificates bus contractors and drivers are stating on their applications so they can be awarded points as per the evaluation criteria for contractor selection. Information that is not received will not be included in the evaluation process.
As of August 1, 2020 all new bus drivers will be required to obtain their Class 2S MELT program before driving a school bus. For more information on the MELT program click here. New bus drivers can currently apply for pre-MELT transition status through the BTPS Driver Training School. Please email Chrysti Mannix, Senior Driver instructor, at firstname.lastname@example.org for the application form. New drivers need to receive approval from Alberta Transportation before they can write their Class 2 knowledge or take their Class 2 road test.
As of July 31, 2019 all bus drivers will be required to have their S Endorsement on their license.
